“Blood on the Ivories” is a genre-defying theatrical experience that blurs the line between play, musical, and collective ritual, inviting audiences to confront the complexities of trauma, genius, and healing.

Loring first appeared at the Prescott Fine Arts Association, in 1975 as Arthur in Ah, Wilderness! Since then, he has been in dozens of shows. His last appearance on this stage was as Albany and Curan in KIng Lear

Jonathan has been playing music all his life on street corners and stages around the world with gospel and R&B groups such as The Elect Lady Evangelist Shirley Davis, The Drifters, the Coasters, and Martha Reeves, and with Talking Heads leader David Byrne for a seven-month world tour and the feature film Between the Teeth. He has written hundreds of songs, including ‘I Got a Thing for You’ for Clarence Carter which made it twice onto the Billboard R&B charts. He has composed numerous film scores and musicals.

From 2007 to 2010 he made many trips to Kenya to help create a media center and co-produce documentary films by and for Maasai communities which is what inspired him to found comMUSIKey, a tax-exempt organization predicated on the belief that all human beings are innately and uniquely musical with musical bodies designed to connect on a deeper level than words are capable of.
